The Zion Children's Foundation was born from a deep concern about the rising rates of substance abuse among young people in our communities. As a parent and community member, our founder witnessed firsthand the devastating impact that drug use was having on families and children in our neighborhoods.
What started as conversations with other concerned parents quickly evolved into a realization that many families felt unprepared and overwhelmed when it came to discussing drug prevention with their children. Schools were struggling with limited resources and outdated materials, while parents often didn't know where to turn for accurate, age-appropriate information.
This gap between the urgent need for drug prevention education and the lack of accessible, comprehensive resources became the driving force behind the foundation. We recognized that effective prevention required more than just telling children to "say no" – it required a community-wide approach that empowered children with knowledge, equipped parents with tools, and provided educators with evidence-based resources.
Today, the Zion Children's Foundation stands as a beacon of hope in our community, providing the educational resources and support that families desperately need. Our work is guided by the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to grow up healthy, informed, and free from the dangers of substance abuse.
